The HC TV08 IRL TV distribution unit is first choice for the professional installer. The unit combines TV, FM, DAB, Satellite, CCTV and other AV signals on to a single coaxial cable. The unit also takes the return feed from the main viewing point (usually the lounge) which would typically be from the UHF2 output from the Sky set-top box or from a "Y" splitter.
FM and DAB signals are diplexed onto the return feed and then distributed to additional points within the house via TV/FM diplex wall plates. Each outlet point is able to receive normal terrestrial TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & the selected Satellite channel. The system fully supports the infrared control signals from the TV remote eye back to the Sky set-top box.
The HC TV08 IRL provides 8 independent outputs (typically 8dB Gain to each output). The HC TV08 EX can be added to provide a further 7 outputs. Although the HC TV08 EX has 8 outputs it is fed from an output from the HC TV08 IRL unit thus using a single output. With this arrangement a total of 15 TV’s can be fed from the system. To reduce the chance of overloading the HC TV08 EX with excessive signal a HC TV AT, this retains the return path for IR signals also. This requires an additional power supply which is provided.

The HC TV08 IRS/BK TV distribution unit is first choice for the professional installer. The unit takes a single feed from a multi-switch (a combined TV, FM, DAB, Satellite and other AV signals). The unit also takes the return feed from the main viewing point (usually the lounge) which would typically be from the UHF2 output from the Sky set-top box.
Each outlet point is able to receive normal terrestrial TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & the selected Satellite channel. The system fully supports the infrared control signals from the TV remote eye back to the Sky set-top box.
There are three fundamental differences between the HC TV08 IRL and the HC TV08 IRS/BK.
1. The HC TV08 IRS/BK has been designed primarily, for use within multiple dwellings where it would be fed directly from a multi-switch. The HC TV08 IRL has been designed to be supplied directly from associated antennas and feeds.
2. The HC TV08 IRS/BK also has a secondary application. It is for use in Europe and Ireland. (The HC TV08 IRS/BK can distribute both VHF and UHF signals, whereas HC TV08 IRL distributes only UHF signals.)
3. The HC TV08 IRS/BK has a second IF input to cater for either a Sky+ installation, or a second Sky set-top box. This can be fed from a second multi-switch, or directly from an LNB.

Yes. The HC TV08 EX works and connects in exactly the same way for both types of TV distribution.
Yes. All TV distribution units from HellermannTyton pass IR commands and do not filter or block IR signals.

The HC TV08 IRS/BK provides 8 independent outputs (typically 7dB Gain to each output). The HC TV08 EX can be added to provide a further 7 outputs. A RF Modulator must be used. The output of the device e.g. video, DVD or camera is connected to a HC SP MODULATOR by means of a SCART or Composite connection. Audio can also be connected, either by the SCART connection or the stereo phono connections. The modulator is connected in series with the coaxial cable (a return feed), which in turn is returned back to the TV distribution unit being used. The channel DIP switched on the HC SP MODULATOR are configured to avoid existing signals. All TV’s on the system can potentially be tuned into that specific channel and view the source.
Hint: We advise to keep a gap of 1 UHF channel, 5 UHF channels or 9 channels apart from existing channels on the TV cabling. UHF channels range from 21 to 69. The default RF 2/UHF 2 (return) from a Sky set-top box is set to 69.

Yes, you can watch SKY, SKY+ or Freeview through the HellermannTyton Home Network Sciences System. You can also control the set-top-box remotely as the system passed IR (Infra-red) commands.
A Loftbox expander has to be implemented for the second coax cable i.e. Sky+.
Anywhere you choose, as long as the installer has cabled sufficient cable to the desired location.
Yes, you can connect Cable services to our system, in much the same way as a SKY installation. Please check with your Cable provider whether their box can be controlled remotely.
The TV distribution system is based around standard coaxial cable. We recommend CT100 grade cable to achieve the best performance. Connectivity to the TV distribution system is done by means of screw-on F-Type connectors. We recommend Crimp, Low-Loss F-Type connectors again to retain the performance of the system and signals.
Hint: Try and avoid connector-to-connector connections, the gain and signal strength is degraded by each connector. A continuous cable run of CT100 is preferred.
