The outlets in each location where the extension is required can either be a standard BT LJU telephone connector, RJ45 or RJ11. Converters are available on request.
NB: The standard REN (Ring Equivalence Number) equals four in the UK. If the maximum number of telephone in the property exceeds the REN value of 4, one or more devices may fail to ring. Contact your telephone service provider to have the REN value increased.
Configuring the locations of telephone extensions is achieved by using standard RJ45 to RJ45 Category 5e patch cords. This is carried out in the central chassis. The patch chord connects between the telephone host patch panel and the voice distribution panel, which in turn is connected to the relevant outlet via the structured cabling.
If the property has a internet/broadband service then the appropriate filter (eg ADSL filter) must be used prior to terminating the back of the telephone host panel.
